comment on Steve Willis' blog

After reading my teammate Steve Willis' blog post regarding disgruntled youtube users that are mad about not receiving compensation from youtube, I felt compelled to comment. I completely agree with Steve that these 'youtube stars' do not deserve compensation. These users are clearly missing the point of open source media. Steve even points out that youtube states in its slogan to broadcast yourself.

comment on Nick Baldini's blog

I just commented on Nick Baldini's blog. This was the first time I viewed his blog and saw his wikipedia articles on Notre Dame players and coach Weiss. These posts caught my attention and I read over his evolution to these pages. I am a huge Notre Dame fan, good to see somebody adding to their pages.

review of scobleizer article

I ran into an interesting article on scobleizer recently. The article was titled "Gonzales proposes new crime: 'Attempted' copyright infringement". The Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is pressing Congress to enact a bill that will expand criminal penalties to people caught violating copyright laws. The most radical change he has proposed is to enact the Intellectual Property Protection Act. Under this act, even those who 'attempt' to committ piracy will be subject to criminal prosecution. Another effect of this act would be to allow more wire taps in piracy investigations, wire taps would be authorized in cases of copyright infringement investigations. The Act would also call for increased penalties for all current copyright infringement laws.

I think the piracy laws should be more focused on people that actually violate these laws, instead of going after people that have not even infringed on any copyright material. I can understand the increased penalties for violaters of the law. This just seems like the government is jumping ahead of itself. We will all just have to wait and see how this plays out in the future.

Sussex county, delaware wiki evolution

The first edit I made to Sussex counties page was to add some information to the Law and Government section. I added the current members of the county council. Members are George Cole, Dale Dukes, Finley Jones, Vance Phillips, and Lynn Rogers.

The next edit I made was also to the Law and Government section. I added the identities of the additional offices of the Clerk of the peace, Register of Deeds, Register of Chancery, and the Sheriff.

For my last edit I added some general information to the original section. I added that sussex county is the state's largest county(by land area), and was also the first county in the state to be founded. The geography section seemed to lack content, so I added some general information regarding the different parts of the county. I said the eastern portion of the county is home to delaware's beaches and many seaside resorts, and also that the western portion of the county is the center of delaware's agriculture industry.

In the evolution of this article there was some additional information that came from the 2000 census report. My last edits to the article were also slightly changed. The history I added about sussex county being the first county established was cleaned up and the exact dates of establishment were listed. There was also a grammatical cleanup done to the history material I added.

National Association of Realtors wiki evolution

The first edit I made to NAR's page was to add a HISTORY section. In particular I added information on the foundation of the organization. I also mentioned the founding city and the evolution of the name of the organization.

The second edit I made to the article was to add some information on the upcoming REALTORS conference and expo. I noted that the event was scheduled for November 13-16th. It will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The third edit I made was to add some more history about the organization. I noted the last transformation from the National Association of Real Estate Boards to the current National Assocation of REALTORS.

My first edit was to add a new history section to the article. It was quickly erased because the other editer thought the information should be placed in the opening paragraph. The information I provided about the upcoming REALTORS conference and expo has been deleted. It's pretty frustrating having the material I contributed deleted, especially because it was accurate information that should be included in the page. For my last edit, I added some more history of the organization and that was deleted also. I feel that both edits I made that were deleted contributed accurate information and should be on the page.

Andy Hall wiki evolution

The first addition I made to Andy's page was to state more clearly his entrance to the NFL. I added that he was drafted in the 6th round with the 185th overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft.

Since Andy played his college football at UD, I figured I would add some information about his college career. I highlighted his senior year in my second edit to his page. I noted that he was named the Atlantic 10 offensive player of the year in 2003. Also added were his passing stats for the year.

The last edit I made to his page was to cap off some information about his college career. In addition to his career passing stats, I also added that he finished 5th on the school's all-time list of total offense. There has been no other edits or contributions to this article.

Cape Henlopen High wiki edit evolution

My first edit to Cape Henlopen High's page was to update the school's new structure. I added that the high school now contains grades 10-12 instead of the traditional 9-12. I also contributed the location of the new 9th grade Academy.

The second edit I made was also an addition. There was no mention of any any school officials, so I added that the new Superintendent of the school district is George Stone. The board of education members were also mentioned.

The school has gone through several changes in administration, in particular principles in the past 5-10 years. So I added that the main campus principle is John Yore and the 9th grade academy principle is Brian Donahue. The only other change to the page was an addition of the word "seperate" into one of my sentences regarding the two campuses.
